of SPEAK CONFERENCE.
It’s no coincidence that when God chose to create the universe, the cosmos, and everything we see and know–He spoke.
From that first question to Adam and Eve, to the face to face conversations with Moses, in the whisper to Elijah and the challenge to Job, in the affirmation of Jesus’ sonship after His baptism or the confrontation with Paul on the road to Damascus, there is a common thread throughout the Story of Scripture: God speaks. And when He speaks, things change.
When He speaks, stars begin to blaze and dance. When He speaks, grace becomes possible. That which was dull becomes bright. Those who were lost become found. His Word is the epitome of power, and when He opens His mouth, tombs split, death quivers, and glory erupts.
We do not serve a God who is silent, but we belong to a God who speaks. He is a communicator, the first and original communicator, and as such, He invites us into that great and most holy art.
We are all called to go and make disciples, and most often that comes through our words. But for some, for you, for me, we are called beyond that universal mandate and are tasked with the titanic responsibility of preaching the very words of God.
It is a life-defining, utterly-humbling call, and one that should mark every cell in our bodies and every sentence we say. This calling, to speak and preach the gospel, is so weighty, so aligned with the very being and nature of God, that if you could be doing anything other than preaching, then you should consider moving in that direction instead.
God has been kind to me to allow this call of preaching and His favor to overshadow me these last 45 years. As I look ahead and into the ways He would have me continue to leverage this gift, I would love to invite you to partner with me in enriching and fostering a holy reverence and skill for the preaching we are called to do.
In short, to join together that we may become more skilled and more satisfied in the wonder that we get to speak the Word of God.
This journey will be personal, practical, and pastoral. It will sharpen your craft and strengthen your resolve to crucify yourself that Jesus may be exalted through your communication.
I am grateful and prayerful for you daily,
Louie Giglio
